Meet Salty, the driving force behind Delico’s UK branch, and a true culinary talent with a deep passion for food. His love for cooking began when he was just a little lad, helping his dear mom in the kitchen. From making homemade classics he learned the importance of simple, well-executed dishes — and that passion has only grown since. At school, he was the only boy in cookery class, and it was the only subject in which he earned an A. He jokingly says he must’ve been destined for a career in food!
Salty’s journey took him from humble beginnings to prestigious Michelin-star establishments, where he trained and worked across 1, 2, and 3-star kitchens. His drive for excellence led him to work for free as a stagiaire to gain invaluable experience, setting him on a path toward success. He’s made a name for himself with impressive accolades, including being a finalist for the Gordon Ramsay Scholarship, and he’s been named Lancashire Chef of the Year and North West Chef of the Year.
In 2019, Salty joined the Delico team on a whim after covering for a colleague during Metallica’s tour. The chemistry was instant, and since then, he’s been hooked on the touring lifestyle, taking on more responsibilities and expanding his role with us. His ambition led to the launch of Delico UK in mid-2023, with the goal of establishing our brand in the UK market and beyond.
His vision doesn’t stop there — Salty is actively forging connections across Europe and Turkey, exploring new opportunities to provide exceptional catering to the touring and food markets.
